About Us

Our Story

I was born in the northern part of Ghana in an era of war and conflict. My parents were professional teachers and peasant farmers and going to the market and even their farms during those times of war was often difficult for fear of losing their lives. We struggled to eat a healthy diet.

In 2016, I almost died due to iron deficiency anemia, a malnutrition disease that compelled me to quit my job. During this trauma, we discovered a climate adaptive crop through a doctor locally called abedru or Kwahu nsusua in my community. After processing the fruits and added to my meals it helped improved my nutrition and saved my life. As a Food Scientist, married to a Chemist, we researched into the crop for 2 years and discovered its rich nutrients dense properties.
In 2018, I started my agribusiness with my husband by processing the fruits into nutritious shelf stable teas, powders for breakfast cereals, spreads for breads and juices to help provide healthy diets, improve food security and a resilient climate-Millicent Adoboe (Co-Founder)
Globally 2.62 billion people suffer similar malnutrition situations and about 570 million are affected in Africa. Undernourishment and severe food insecurity is increasing in almost all regions of Africa with over 800 million people in sub-Saharan Africa malnourished. Every year, 11 million people die due to unhealthy diets.-WHO & UN reports 2020, 2021. A report by UNICEF and WHO indicates that a newborn or pregnant woman dies every 11 seconds mostly from preventable causes. Poor nutrition is one of the causes of these deaths worldwide.

 

Today, our team comprising of 16 youth (over 50% being women under age 35) and over 50 rural women farmers have transformed a near-death experience into a four times award-winning agribusiness within 5 years of business.

Our Company has also produced other innovative turkey berry-based organic foods that help manage lifestyle disease conditions like Diabetes, Obesity, High Blood Pressure etc.

Currently, Achiever Foods is headquartered in Accra, Ghana where its major operations are done. It is also legally registered in Commonwealth of Virginia State Corporation of the United States of America. We sell our products in Ghana, USA, UK, Canada etc. Welcome to the DALIHA World.
