After Bright’s wife’s (Millicent) harrowing experience with an acute anemic attack, together , the couple found a life-changing purpose: to combat anemia and malnutrition worldwide. This led to the creation of Achiever Foods, an innovative company specializing in organic, nutrient-rich products designed to address global nutrition challenges. Drawing inspiration from their own struggles, the couple now uses their groundbreaking food solutions to fight anemia and promote healthier lives for communities across the globe.
Addressing Nutrition Insecurity with Turkey Berries
Achiever Food’s groundbreaking business centers on the turkey berry, a highly nutritious and climate-resilient crop. Known for its rich content of iron, vitamins, and antioxidants, the turkey berry is a powerful tool to combat malnutrition, particularly in underserved communities. Recognizing its potential, Bright and his team devised a strategy that not only boosts nutrition but also promotes sustainable farming practices.
“Nutrition insecurity is a pressing issue in many parts of Africa,” Bright shared during his pitch. “By integrating the turkey berry into local farming systems, we can provide a cost-effective, sustainable solution that directly addresses the problem while empowering smallholder farmers.”
